يوجد سبيل باب حطة داخل
الجدار الشرقي لباب حطة (على شكل تجويف) أحد الأبواب الشمالية للمسجد الأقصى المبارك- على يسار الداخل
منه. ويعود إنشاؤه إلى العهد العثماني،وقد قامت مؤسسة الأقصى لإعمار المقدسات
الإسلامية بترميمه، أثناء بنائها لوحدة المراحيض القريبة مؤخرا، ثم ألغى نهائيا
بعد ذلك. ويقع فى الشرق من باب حطة، مطهرة باب حطة، والتي
لم تكن مطهرة في أصلها، وإنما سمح الإمام الشنتميطي باستعمالها كذلك منذ أواخر
العهد العثماني، ثم جددت في أواخر سنوات السبعينيات من القرن العشرين الميلادي، وجددت
مرة أخرى بعد هدمها على يد أعضاء مؤسسة الأقصى لإعمار المقدسات الإسلامية في سنة
1416هـ -1996م، وذلك برعاية ومباركة دائرة الأوقاف الإسلامية، وهي مطهرة النساء في
المسجد الأقصى المبارك الآن.
